Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a manuscript that you want to submit to Belton Cottage Publishing, then we are interested in looking at it. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our submission guidelines before sending your manuscript. At the moment, we are accepting submissions for our Time Wells short story anthology and our Every Summer Has A Story flash fiction contest only. We will contact you if we are interested in moving forward.
We are a traditional publisher. We take care of all the costs of publishing the book and pay the author royalties based on sales. We currently work under a profit sharing model.
We currently publish Young Adult fiction novels in the following sub-genres:
- Romance
- Fantasy
- Science Fiction
- Mystery
We ask that all submissions be sent in PDF format to submissions@beltoncottagepublishing.com and include the following:
- a synopsis of the work
- your biography, including publication history
- contact information
- three sample chapters
- whether the work has been previously published
*Please only send your first three chapters, if we are interested in your manuscript, we will send a request.
*We ask that you not inquiries into the status of your manuscript. We will contact you within 6-8 weeks.
We ask that all submissions are edited to the best of your ability and meet the following criteria:
· Double space the entire story
· Use 12 pt. Times New Roman font
· Use a 1” margin on all sides
· Don’t number the first page but do number the rest of the pages
· Put the word count and title at the top right corner
· Put your name, contact information, previous publications, story name and word count in the body of your email
· Send in PDF format
